about Corinne Dixon

Corinne Dixon

Corinne Dixon has been working in all aspects of documentation since graduating from Scarborough, Ontario-based Centennial College's Book Editing and Design program in 1986. Marketing communications, desktop publishing, technical manuals, release notes, user guides, procedures, presentations, proposals, status reports, budget justifications, training materials - there aren't many kinds of documents she hasn't written or edited.

As a business consultant for the public sector for nine years, Corinne worked on software development projects (at the Canadian International Development Agency, Justice Canada and Public Works and Government Services Canada), specializing in quality assurance of programs and project deliverables. It was in this role that Corinne put her innate ability to assess needs and establish best practices to work. Armed with a natural curiosity, an affinity for research and superior communications ability, her talent as a non-technical writer is bridging the gap between technical outputs/requirements and the needs of the client and user.

In addition, Corinne has honed her creative writing skills through Humber College's acclaimed Creative Writing Program under the mentorship of Isabel Huggan and Sandra Birdsell.

Upgrading of her skills and experience through specific training and professional development with American Writers and Artists Inc. and Michael Stelzner's White Paper Source was a perfect evolution. Results-based copywriting is an ideal venue for Corinne to leverage her combination of broad business acumen, native writing ability and client-focused ethic.

Corinne moved from Ottawa to the Vancouver area in 2004 and now lives in New Westminster, British Columbia. In her leisure time, she enjoys yoga, cooking, nature, family and just about any kind of cultural activity, and is an avid student of life.
